These 12 Coffee Scrub Ingredients Will Leave Your Skin Feeling Silky Smooth!

In case you missed it, last week we launched our brand new Collagen For Her Collagen Coffee Body Scrub! We pride ourselves on creating products that have minimal and recognizable ingredients, which is why our new collagen coffee body scrub is made with only 12 ingredients that you can actually pronounce! So let’s talk about these ten ingredients and why they are so great for your skin!

  1. Organic Arabica Coffee Beans
Coffee grinds for your skin? Yep! Coffee grinds have natural exfoliating properties that can help remove dead skin and leave the skin with a smoother, more even look. In addition, coffee scrubs can increase blood flow and circulation, which can help improve the appearance of cellulite.
  2. Grapeseed Oil
Grapeseed oil is extracted from the seeds of wine grapes. Unlike some other oils, grapeseed oil is lightweight and non comedogenic, meaning it doesn’t clog pores and keeps dry skin supple and oily skin acne-free. This makes it a suitable oil to use on all skin types including sensitive and acne prone skin! Grapeseed oil is also anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and contains antioxidants that can help prevent pollution and UV-induced free radical damage to the skin.
  3. Mentha Aquatica (Water Mint)
Mentha aquatica, also known as water mint, is a perennial flowering plant in the mint family Lamiaceae. Water mint plants have topical medicinal properties that can calm the skin and contain antioxidants that remove dead cells, which helps keep our skin looking radiant!
  4. Olive Oil
Most of us probably have a bottle of olive oil sitting in our kitchen cabinet that we use for cooking or salad dressings, but what about using olive oil on our skin? Olive oil is rich in many vitamins that are amazing for our skin including Vitamin A,Vitamin D, Vitamin K, and Vitamin E. Not only does olive oil contain powerful antioxidants that might help prevent or reverse damage from cancer-causing ultraviolet radiation, but it also serves as a moisturizer and can fight off bacteria. Using body products that contain olive oil is especially helpful for people with acne prone skin because it can actually help kill off the bacteria that causes acne. Bring on the olive oil!
  5. Almond Oil
Almond oil is particularly beneficial for the skin because it is both a moisturizer and an emollient. Moisturizers supply water to the skin and hold it in, while emollients smooth the skin and fill in any gaps. This ingredient is one of the reasons why our coffee scrub will leave your skin feeling and *looking* silky smooth!
  6. Glycerin
Glycerin is a natural compound derived from vegetable oils. Glycerin is unique because it is a humectant, meaning it has the property of attracting water to itself. It is essentially a sponge that pulls in water to hydrate the outer layer of the skin and a result, it leaves your skin with an overall moisturizing and smoothing effect. As an added bonus, it can also help slow the evaporation of water from your skin, which is super beneficial for dry skin especially during the winter months!
  7. Water
Good old h2O! I don’t think we need to go into much detail on this one, but in the spirit of full transparency, water is one of the 12 ingredients in our brand new collagen coffee scrub :)
  8. Macadamia Nut Oil
Macadamia nut oil is rich in monounsaturated fats and an excellent source of Vitamin E. It mimics your skin’s natural oils, which allows it to absorb into your skin without feeling greasy. Macadamia nut oil can help combat dry skin, lock in moisture, and keep your skin hydrated!
  9. Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that can help remove toxins and other environmental stressors that we are exposed to daily from the skin. Vitamin E also has moisturizing and healing benefits that help to strengthen the skin’s protective barrier and as a result, protect the skin from damage.
  10. Cinnamon Cassia Essential Oil
This essential oil comes from the cinnamomum cassia tree, an evergreen tree native to Southern China. It is known for protecting the skin and is commonly used to help improve skin issues such as acne, rashes, and other skin irritations!
  11. Collagen Powder
As you know, we always stress the importance of taking a collagen supplement because of its wide variety of benefits for not only skin but hair, nails, joints, digestion, and so much more. While it is super important to replenish your body’s collagen levels by taking an ingestible form of collagen, using collagen products topically can help temporarily improve the appearance of skin and give you that desired glow!
  12. Vanilla Extract
Last but not least, a touch of vanilla extract to make your coffee scrub have an oh-so-subtle scent!

There you have it! 12 natural, recognizable ingredients that have amazing benefits for the skin! Skincare shouldn’t be complicated. Face masks shouldn’t burn your skin. And “clean” skincare products shouldn’t have a million ingredients that you would need a chemistry degree to understand what they are. Learn more about our new Collagen Coffee Body Scrub here!
