Top 6 Most Asked Collagen Questions!

Top 6 Most Asked Collagen Questions!

Everyday we get emails, Instagram messages, Facebook comments, etc. asking us questions about collagen (don’t stop: we love it!). But there are a few questions that we get over and over again, so we thought we would do a round up of the top five questions we have been getting lately!

  1. What types of collagen are in Collagen For Her?
All of our powders contain collagen types I and III except for our marine collagen beauty blend that contains only type I. Our multi-collagen capsules contain five types of collagen - types I, II, III, X, V.

  2. Is there a difference between the powders and capsules?
The powders contain more grams of collagen per serving, however it really comes down to personal preference. Some people have no issue adding a scoop to their coffee every morning and going about their day while other people prefer to take capsules along with their other daily vitamins. We also have a lot of women who use both - powders some days, capsules other days. There really is no wrong way! Do what works best for you and your lifestyle! We are just here to provide you all the options :)

  3. Where is Collagen For Her made/sourced from?
Our collagen powders are sourced from grass fed pasture raised bovine in South America. Our marine collagen is sourced from fish, so it is pescatarian friendly. All of our products are tested, bottled, and shipped in the United States!

  4. Is collagen safe if you are pregnant or breastfeeding?
We always recommend checking with your doctor! Pregnancy and postpartum is so different for every individual woman, it would be impossible for us to give a one-size-fits-all answer. The safest bet is to run it by your doctor!

  5. Can you take too much collagen?
We recommend 1-2 servings of collagen per day. Our products are all designed to mix and match, so if you like having a scoop of our unflavored in your morning coffee but also love a little afternoon matcha pick-me-up, go for it! If you prefer to just include one scoop in your smoothies, that is fine too! If you have any specific concerns about how much collagen to take, we always recommend checking with a doctor because everyone is different and they will be able to give you the most accurate answer!

  6. Are you going to come out with liquid collagen?
Lately our DMs have been full of people asking about liquid collagen, so here’s the deal. We have tried a ton of them. Like so many. We have yet to find one that tastes good, doesn’t contain any artificial flavors, and that we could sell at an affordable price point (we've seen some that are upwards of $100 per month - um what?!).

When you add any collagen powder to a liquid, it becomes liquid collagen. Liquid collagen products are simply taking powdered collagen and pre-liquifying it for you. There is no scientific evidence that says pre-mixed liquid collagen absorbs better than powders that are added to liquid. No one is dry scooping collagen and eating it, so the argument that powders don't absorb as well as liquid have no real backing because no one consumes collagen powder dry anyways.

With the being said, our goal is to provide women with collagen products that are easy to incorporate into their everyday life. So, if we are able to create a liquid collagen that tastes good, has no artificial flavors/fillers, and that are affordable, we would love to release one! But for now, the search continues!

If you have any other questions, drop them below! Or as always feel free to slide into our DMs ;)

Hi there! One serving is 3 capsules! You can take them with or without food, whichever you prefer!

Hello, I just received my order. How many individual tablets do I take each day? Do I take them with a meal?
