Our Top 6 Most Asked Collagen Questions!
The Latest & Greatest from Collagen For Her

Our Top 6 Most Asked Collagen Questions!

Everyday we get emails, Instagram messages, Facebook comments, etc. asking us questions about collagen (don’t stop: we love it!). There are a few questions that we have been getting asked a lot lately, so we thought we’d do a round up of the top six most frequently asked questions lately!

1. What is the difference between Unflavored Collagen Peptides (pink bottle) and Marine Collagen Beauty Blend (blue bottle)? Can I take both?

Our Unflavored Collagen Peptides contain one ingredient, pure hydrolyzed collagen peptides, sourced from bovine. This was our original product and still remains our most popular so you can’t go wrong with the OG if you are looking for a good starting point!

The Marine Collagen Beauty Blend also contains hydrolyzed collagen peptides (sourced from fish, not bovine so it’s pescatarian friendly!) in addition to Vitamin C, biotin, and hyaluronic acid for added benefits for hair, skin, and nails.

With either product, you will get all of the benefits for collagen so it just depends on whether or not you want the added Vitamin C, biotin, and hyaluronic acid that comes with the marine collagen. You can use just one of them, alternate days using them both, or use a scoop of each every day! It’s totally up to you.

2. Is there a difference between the powders and capsules?

The powders contain more grams of collagen per serving, however it really comes down to personal preference. Some people have no issue adding a scoop to their coffee every morning and going about their day while other people prefer to take capsules along with their other daily vitamins. We also have a lot of women who use both - powders some days, capsules other days. There really is no wrong way! Do what works best for you and your lifestyle! We are just here to provide you with all the options :)

3. How much collagen should I take per day? Can you take too much collagen?

We recommend 1-2 servings of collagen per day. Our products are all designed to mix and match, so if you like having a scoop of our unflavored in your morning coffee but also love a little afternoon matcha pick-me-up, go for it! If you prefer to just include one scoop in your smoothies, that is fine too! If you have any specific concerns about how much collagen to take, we always recommend checking with a doctor because everyone is different and they will be able to give you the most accurate answer!

4. Where is Collagen For Her made/sourced from?

Our collagen powders are sourced from bovine in South America. Our marine collagen is sourced from fish in Europe and Asia, so it is pescatarian friendly. All of our products are tested, bottled, and shipped in the United States!

5. Do I need to take the gummies in addition to collagen?

Think of our collagen powders or capsules as the foundation of your collagen routine. Our new Marine Collagen Beauty Gummies are designed to act as an added layer of support for your hair, skin, and nails by providing nutrients such as biotin, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and zinc. They are a fun way to get some added benefits since they taste delicious!

6. Is collagen safe if you are pregnant or breastfeeding?

We always recommend checking with your doctor. Pregnancy and postpartum are so different for every individual woman, it would be impossible for us to give a one-size-fits-all answer. The safest bet is to run it by your doctor!

If you have any other questions that didn’t get answered in this round-up, shoot us a message here! We’re always happy to help!

It would be great if you offered the marine collagen in capsule form as well as powder as I prefer the capsules. Much more convenient, especially when traveling.
